Sexually transmitted diseases (STD's) are infections you can get by having sex with someone who has an STD. If you have sex just once with an infected partner, you can become infected whether the sex is genital, oral, or anal. You often will not be able to tell if your partner has an STD, because sometimes there are no visible warning signs. |

Some STDs leave women unable to have children. Some can kill you or have long-term effects on your health. If a woman is pregnant, and has an STD, she and her developing baby may both be affected. |
