Healthy Start is a statewide program designed to help women have healthier babies, reduce infant mortality and improve the overall health and development of Florida’s children. Healthy Start ensures that pregnant women and their newborn infants receive access to the care that they need. |

In Baker County, we deliver services by phone, office visits or by home visitation. The program participants and Healthy Start staff decide jointly which forms of service delivery will be most beneficial for clients to receive. An interdisciplinary team of social worker, health educator and nurse provide the following services: |

· Childbirth and Postpartum Care Education · Care of the Newborn Education · Breastfeeding Education and Consultation · Supportive Counseling · Smoking Cessation · Reference Library · Car Seat Program · Referrals to Additional Services as needed |
